Pedigree Titles
Sometimes titles before or after an animal’s name is not understood. We have created a set of tables to help understand show and milk titles
Goat Names
- Generally modern names have the Farm Name listed first. Example Northern Dawn Blue Heaven means the farm name is Northern Dawn, which is registered with one or more registries.
- The last part of the name is the animal’s actual name. In the above example, Blue Heaven is her actual name
- Some breeders/owners name their goats with a set of initials, meaning the sire’s goat name. Example Hawk Meadows HH Northern Roxi means: Hawk Meadows Farm, HH stands for Roxi’s sire who is Handsome Hank, Roxi is her actual name
- Some of the older goat names have the herd name and goat name reversed
