Ribbons and Trophies

• The ribbon and trophy images specifically shown are entered by  www.northerndawnnigerians.com and were not specifically given, to easily show what the placings/awards are
• MDGA doesn’t give ribbons for class placings, but only enters lists the placings. For Grand, Reserve, etc, they give official certificates.

My Entries into the Summer 2013 Online V-Show

Echo Hill’s Elizabeth Swan DOB: 03/19/2009  Fresh Date: 3-4-2013 Freshenings: 3 Height: 26″  Generatons: 4 American  Photo Date: 06/21/2013  Photo Age: 4 yr 3 mon Comments: Being milked once a day due to time restraints and medical emergency
Results:	Judges ->  Harry & Gail Groot Placing -> 1st place “places first for her smooth topline, general appearance, and udder capacity.”	Judge -> Karen Torrence Placing -> 1st “In a very close placing, the first place doe is showing a slight advantage in general appearance with a more level topline and rump she will grant the more proper leg set and angulation to two.  She is showing a higher rear and greater capacity and area of attachment of her mammary with more extension to the fore.”

Rocking Goat Tasha

DOB: 06/05/2007  Freshened 3/27/12  Freshenings: 2  Generations: 3 American Height: Photo Date: 21 Jun 2013 Photo Age: 6 yr Comments: Only being milked once per day, due to medical emergency and time restraints.   Almost dried up at one point, then brought back to her milk.  Been milking well over a year.
Placings:	Judges ->  Harry & Gail Groot Placing -> 2nd “places over the next doe for her body capacity and general appearance” Placing -> Reserve Grand Champion “going to go with the second placed aged doe because of her more open escutcheon, good teat placement, depth of body, and width of her front end.”	Judge -> Karen Torrence Placing -> 2nd “In a close placing, the 2nd place doe shows greater depth in the heart, slightly more balance to the halves, and a very nice dairy wedge from the side and when viewed from above.  She does grant a little in dairy character to the doe in 3rd.”

DOB: 03/04/2011 Freshened; 2/21/13  Freshening: 1  Height: 25″  Photo Date: 21 Jun 2013 Photo Age: 2 years 3 mon  Generations: 1    Comments: being milked once per day due to medical emergency and time restraints
Placings:	Judges ->  Harry & Gail Groot Placing -> 3rd “places above the next doe for her smooth blending and width of body, however she concedes udder capacity to the next doe.”	Judge -> Karen Torrence Placing -> 3rd “Three is placing over four for her advantage in general appearance especially levelness over of  rump and more proper angulation to the rear leg when viewed from the side”

DOB: 03/04/2011  Fresh Date: 13 Sept 2012  Freshening: 1  Height: 25 1/2″ Generations: 1 Photo Date: 21 Jun 2013  Photo Age: 2 years 3 mon  Comments: Milking for 8 months.  Currently being milked once per day due to medical emergency and time restraints
Placings:	Judges ->  Harry & Gail Groot Placing -> 7th due “commended for her body capacity”	Judge -> Karen Torrence Placing -> 7th “This doe is to be commended on her smoothly blended shoulders into the withers and levelness of topline.  She has been fresh for 8 months and is not showing the production or balance that would move her higher in the class today.”

Placing:	Judges -> Harry & Gail Groot Placing: 5th place (Peggy adds that these photos are not very good) “stands solidly on her feet and legs and places over the next doe for her strength of topline.”	Judge -> Karen Torrence Placing -> 4th “Four is placing over five for her levelness in the rump and topline, width in the front end, depth of heart, and openness and width to the escutcheon.”

Placing:	Judges -> Harry & Gail Groot Placing -> 7th (I will add that these aren’t the greatest photo.  Peggy) “should develop into a productive doe and is to be commended for her width of front end.”	Judge -> Karen Torrence Placing -> 7th “Seven is to be commended for her strength and width throughout.  She is one of the youngest does in this age group and also one of the widest.”

DOB: 03/31/2011  Height: 30″  Generations: 5 American Photo Date: 16 Jun 2013 Photo Age: 2 years 3 mon  comments: don’t laugh. I was standing atop a wobbly cattle panel and then had to rotate the photo for the top view. Just kidding. You can laugh.
Placing:	Judge -> Harry & Gail Groot Placing -> 2nd “unable to be adequately evaluated from the photos provided.”Placing -> Reserve Grand Champion “second place two year old appears to have the general appearance, dairy character, and length of body we expect in a herdsire and we’ll award the Reserve Champion to him. [The lack of contrast in the side view photo makes it hard to see detail, but the top view clarifies well enough to carry him over the 4 year old.”	Judge -> Karen Torrence Placing -> 2nd “second place buck is to be commended for his width and height of escutcheon and dairyness with his long lean neck, open ribbing and loose skin.”
